Answers to the procurement and technical questions lab coordinators ask most — manufacturer comparisons, replacement parts, lead times, bulk ordering, and model identification.

MS-prefixed models (SOMSO's general anatomy line) tend to be soft-tissue-inclusive — pelvic organs, muscles, nerves, and vessels — while QS-prefixed models are bone-focused skeletal pelvis and vertebral-column pieces. If you need organ/soft-tissue detail versus pure osteology, the prefix is a quick way to narrow the search before requesting a quote.
Some models (like the MS 10 pelvic floor and MS 10/1 ligamentous apparatus versions) are sold as standalone pieces rather than requiring the full pelvis assembly. If your program only teaches pelvic floor anatomy — e.g., for pelvic health PT — a standalone piece is usually more cost-effective than a full pelvis model.
These represent different levels of dissectible detail within the same product family — check the specific part count and removable-structure list on each product page, since "MS 8" naming alone doesn't tell you whether muscles, nerves, or vessels are included versus a simpler bony/organ-only version.
The MS 13 "Pelvis with Uterus in Ninth Month of Pregnancy" models are standalone teaching models showing the pelvis-fetus relationship, not designed to integrate with a separate obstetric phantom. If you need a hands-on labor/delivery mechanics trainer, that's a different product category (see Childbirth and Obstetric Models) — don't assume these are interchangeable.
Depends on the model — sectioned/removable-organ pelvis models often have individually replaceable components (e.g., a single removable organ or a base skeleton section), while single-piece cast models (like the basic QS-series skeletal pelvis) typically require full replacement. Send us the model number and which part failed, and we'll check replacement-part availability.
QS 16 isolates just the pelvis (innominates, sacrum, coccyx, and lower lumbar vertebrae) — useful if lower-extremity anatomy isn't part of your lesson. QS 13 includes the full lower extremity attached, better suited for teaching hip-to-foot relationships. Ordering the wrong one means paying for (or missing) extremity bones you didn't need.
This varies by suffix — QS 21/2 and 21/4 are noted as flexible/mounted for movement, while QS 20 is described as not flexible. If you're teaching spinal-pelvic movement mechanics versus static structural relationships, confirm the exact suffix before ordering, since "vertebral column with pelvis" alone covers both rigid and articulated versions.
